Welcome

With a wide variety of challenging offerings, the Mathematics Department at Rowan University offers a competitive, yet fun, learning environment. Students have the option of two undergraduate degrees, a graduate program and several concentrations. Our faculty is comprised of experts in many areas, including applied and theoretical mathematics, statistics, abstract algebra and analysis. Rowan's math students boast noteworthy credentials, as well. Many have conducted original research, participated in national and international mathematics competitions and published papers with faculty.

Mathematics Scholarship for Outstanding Junior Mathematics Major

The Mathematics Department announces the 2008 Annual Award of a scholarship to honor an outstanding junior currently pursuing either the B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics. To be eligible for this award a student must be a junior with all required 200 level mathematics courses completed and with at least a 3.0 G.P.A. in mathematics. To be considered for this award a letter of nomination must be sent to the chairman of the Mathematics Department’s Award Committee, Professor Weinstock.  This letter may be submitted by anyone including the nominee or a member of the mathematics faculty and it should explain in detail the rationale for the nomination. Information concerning service to the college or community, participation in math competitions and/or scholarly achievement is valuable. All nominations should be submitted by Monday, January 28, 2008.
